Architectural Digest Latin America — October 2020 cover featuring the Casa Etérea copper bathtub on the open courtyard against a concrete wall, with the volcanic landscape behind
Architectural Digest Latin America · Cover · October 2020

The house Architectural Digest chose for its cover

The original of the two, Etérea N°1 is a 75-square-metre house of glass and reflection. A hand-beaten copper bathtub beside the bed is its defining feature. The sliding glass opens completely onto the deck and pool, and the mirrored walls return the mountain, the sky and the changing light to the landscape.

From inside, the volcanic peaks feel remarkably close. You watch the sunrise from bed, and at dusk the mirrored façade catches the last light. Intimate, romantic and deliberately elemental, Etérea N°1 is a house where the line between architecture and landscape begins to disappear.

What's at the house

75 sqm · 1 bedroom · 1 bath · sleeps 2

High-speed WiFi

Fast enough for video calls, remote work and streaming, with a dedicated workspace.

Equipped Kitchen

A two‑burner gas stove, a full‑sized fridge and freezer, a stovetop kettle and a French press, with pots, pans, knives and everything to set the table. The large island doubles as cooking space and dining table.

Cooking Essentials

Tea, instant coffee, cooking oil, salt, pepper and drinking water are provided in the kitchen.

Solar-heated Pool

An outdoor dipping pool, not a jacuzzi. Solar‑heated, so the water is mild rather than hot. Open day and night, all year.

Shower Amenities

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, fresh towels and robes, plus instant gas‑heated hot water.

Dedicated House Manager

Selene meets you at the arrival pickup point, guides you up to the house and sees you off at checkout. In between, the house is yours, and she’s a WhatsApp away in English or Spanish.

Drinking Water

The tap water isn’t drinkable, but we provide plenty of potable water for drinking and cooking throughout your stay.

Free Parking

Park directly at the house; any standard car or SUV can handle the mountain road. Low‑clearance sports cars park free at Lavanda Spa, five minutes below, and Selene brings you the rest of the way in our company jeep.

Free Arrival & Departure Shuttle

The house isn’t on any map, so every guest is met at the arrival pickup point, guided up the mountain, and brought back down on departure day. The complimentary shuttle runs on check‑in and check‑out days only; during your stay, self‑drive or pre‑book a taxi.

20 minutes from a UNESCO city

Below the mountain lies San Miguel de Allende. Its cobbled streets and rooftop restaurants are close enough for dinner, yet far enough that, at Etérea, you would never know the city was there.
